Website Terms & Conditions

1. Who we are

This website is operated by Epoxy Floor Pty Ltd of Melbourne VIC (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By using our website, requesting a quote, or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. What we do

We supply and install resin flooring systems, including:

  • Epoxy coatings (solid colour, clear, high-build, trowel-down)

  • Epoxy flake systems

  • Polyurethane cement (PU-cement) systems

  • Grind & seal and surface preparation (diamond grinding, crack/void repair)

  • Slip-resistance options (texture/aggregate), coving, line-marking & repairs

3. Quotes, site inspections & scope

3.1 Quotes are free unless otherwise stated and are valid for 30 days.
3.2 Quotes are based on information you provide and a visual inspection (if performed). If latent conditions are discovered (e.g., moisture issues, soft/weak concrete, adhesive residues, oil contamination, levelling required, asbestos-containing materials, unexpected repairs), we’ll propose a variation before proceeding.
3.3 A booking is confirmed when you accept our quote in writing and pay any deposit stated on the quote.

4. Pricing, deposits & payment

4.1 All prices are in AUD and include GST unless stated otherwise.
4.2 Typical terms: [X% deposit] on acceptance; [progress claim(s)] for multi-day works; balance on completion.
4.3 We accept EFT / Visa / Mastercard / EFTPOS (surcharges may apply for cards).
4.4 If access is delayed or the area is not ready, waiting/return charges may apply.
4.5 Title to supplied materials passes on full payment.

5. Cancellations & rescheduling

5.1 You may reschedule without charge with ≥3 business days’ notice.
5.2 Cancellations with <3 business days’ notice may incur reasonable costs (lost time, custom-tinted material, restocking).
5.3 We may reschedule for weather, safety, illness, or supply disruptions.

6. Your responsibilities (site readiness)

6.1 Clear & clean: Areas must be empty of furniture/racking, clean, dry and free of other trades.
6.2 Power/lighting/parking: Provide 240V power, adequate lighting, water for cleanup, and nearby parking.
6.3 Moisture & substrate: Concrete must meet moisture and strength requirements. If moisture vapour transmission (MVT), rising damp, or hydrostatic pressure is suspected, we may require MVT testing and/or a moisture-mitigation primer (extra cost).
6.4 Contaminants: Oils, greases, curing compounds, old coatings and glue may require additional surface prep.
6.5 Environment: Maintain suitable temperature/ventilation and dust control during install and cure.
6.6 Food & public areas: You are responsible for any required shutdowns, barricades and hygiene protections.

7. Our installation process (key points)

7.1 We carry out surface preparation (grind/repair) to achieve an appropriate profile.
7.2 We mix and apply resins per manufacturer data sheets and agreed spec (build/colour/flake/texture).
7.3 Cure times vary by system and conditions. As a guide: foot traffic often ~24 hours, light loads ~48–72 hours, full cure up to 7 days. We will advise specific timing for your project.
7.4 You must not traffic the area until we confirm it is ready.

8. Important disclosures about resin floors

8.1 Colour & batch variation: Minor colour/texture variances can occur between batches, repairs and edges.
8.2 UV & yellowing: Standard epoxies may amber under UV; topcoats (e.g., UV-stable polyurethanes) can reduce but not eliminate UV change.
8.3 Slip resistance: We can add texture/aggregate to target slip resistance; actual performance depends on maintenance, contaminants (oil/grease/water) and footwear. Periodic cleaning and de-greasing are essential. (Independent AS 4586/AS 4663 slip testing available on request; fees apply.)
8.4 Hot-tyre pickup & staining (garages/workshops): Plasticiser transfer, brake dust, tyres, chemicals and rust can stain or soften some topcoats. Choose higher-performance topcoats where this is critical.
8.5 Outgassing & pinholes: Porous concrete may release air during cure; mitigation may require timing works to slab temperature, priming, and/or additional coats (variation).
8.6 Transitions & feathering: Where coatings meet tiles/carpet/steel/timber or different levels, minor step/feather lines may be visible.

9. Warranties & the ACL

9.1 Workmanship warranty: We warrant our installation workmanship for [12 months] from completion.
9.2 Manufacturer warranties: Resins/topcoats are covered by the respective manufacturer warranty (terms vary by product/system).
9.3 Exclusions: Misuse, neglect, impact damage, extreme service exposure outside specification, substrate movement/cracking, building leaks, MVT/hydrostatic pressure, cleaning with harsh/unsuitable chemicals, and damage by other trades are excluded.
9.4 Australian Consumer Law: Nothing in these Terms excludes your non-excludable rights under the ACL. If our services fail to meet a consumer guarantee, you are entitled to a remedy—re-supply, repair, replacement or refund—depending on the nature of the failure.

10. Food & hygiene areas (commercial kitchens, processing)

10.1 We install systems designed to assist with hygiene and cleaning regimes. Compliance depends on the chosen system, installation details, site conditions and ongoing maintenance.
10.2 We do not guarantee regulatory approvals; your site operator remains responsible for overall food-safety compliance, cleaning protocols and audit requirements. We can provide technical data sheets to support your compliance processes.

11. Variations & delays

11.1 We’ll promptly notify you of any variations required (e.g., extra prep, moisture primer, levelling, additional coats) with revised pricing/timing for approval.
11.2 If our team is delayed by others, unsafe access, or incomplete readiness, we may charge standby/return to site at our standard rates.

12. Health, safety & environment

12.1 We work to a Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) and use PPE and dust control (e.g., H-class extraction when grinding).
12.2 Some products emit odour/VOCs during application; you must ensure adequate ventilation and keep people/food/products away from the area until declared safe for re-entry.
12.3 We manage waste and wash-water responsibly in line with environmental requirements.

13. Maintenance & care

13.1 Maintain regular cleaning suited to your system (neutral pH detergents; degrease where needed).
13.2 Use protective pads under stands/legs; avoid dragging heavy items; clean spills promptly.
13.3 Slip resistance can reduce if surfaces are not kept free of contaminants.
13.4 Ask us for a Care & Cleaning Guide for your chosen system.

14. Website use, enquiries & uploads

14.1 You may submit enquiries via our online form or email. By submitting, you consent to us contacting you about your request.
14.2 Accepted file types: jpg, png, pdf up to 10 MB each. You warrant you have the right to share uploaded files and that they’re malware-free.
14.3 Website content (text, images, logo) is our IP or used under licence; do not copy or reproduce without permission.

15. Privacy

We handle personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and our Privacy Policy ([link]). We collect details (name, contact, address, project notes, files) to prepare quotes, perform works and manage accounts. You may request access/correction at any time via [privacy@epoxyfloor.com.au].

16. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss (e.g., business interruption, loss of profit, or downtime). Subject to the ACL, our aggregate liability is limited to the price paid for the affected services or re-supply, whichever is lower.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms by posting a new version on this page with the revised “Last updated” date. The version in force when you accept a quote applies to that project.

18. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. The courts of Victoria have exclusive jurisdiction.
